Abstract 1. Gaming machine, in which the game itself is normally performed with coins, comprising a control system just for preparing the machine for operation by entering a value carrier, characterised in that as the control system just for preparing the machine for operation a value-card reader (2), known per se, is used which is provided with a device, permitting a monitoring of turn-over, for reading and selective deleting of values applied to the value card (3), in which arrangement value units can be applied and deleted on the value card.
