Abstract

Abstract Granules of higher potency of sodium L-ascorbate obtainable by spray-coating sodium L-ascorbate powder in a fluidized-bed granulator with a binder are excellent in terms of color stability and flowability. Tablets obtainable by compressing the granules have a satisfactory mechanical strength.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 30 words
Sodium L-ascorbate granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, wherein the content of sodium L-ascorbate is about 98.5 to 99.5 weight %, on dry basis, of the granule.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 30 words
Sodium L-ascorbate granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, wherein the content of sodium L-ascorbate is about 98.5 to 99.5 weight %, on dry basis, of the granule.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
2 . Granules as claimed in Claim 1, wherein their portion of not less than about 80 weight % falls into particle size of 177 to 840 µ (the JIS standard).
Claim 4
Independent Claim 113 words
A method for producing sodium L-ascorbate granules, characterized in that said process comprises spraying sodium L-ascorbate powder exhibiting particle size of not more than 250 µ and having its portion of not less than 80 weight % falling into particle size of not more than 149 µ (the JIS standard), while allowing it to fluidize in a fluidized-bed granulator, with a solution containing a binder of such an amount as may correspond to about 0.5 to 1.5 weight % of the total weight of finished product (on dry basis), and granulating while keeping a water content of the composition during granulating process from exceeding about 7 weight % throughout the whole process steps.
Claim 5
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 60 words
Tablets containing sodium L-ascorbate obtained by compressing into tablets the granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, having sodium L-ascorbate contained within the range of about 98.5 to 99.5 weight % on dry basis and having their portion of not less than about 80 weight % falling into particle size of 177 to 840 4 (the JIS standard).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 60 words
Tablets containing sodium L-ascorbate obtained by compressing into tablets the granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, having sodium L-ascorbate contained within the range of about 98.5 to 99.5 weight % on dry basis and having their portion of not less than about 80 weight % falling into particle size of 177 to 840 4 (the JIS standard).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 23 words
Tablets containing sodium L-ascorbate as claimed in Claim 4, wherein said tablets are obtained by compression in the presence of L-ascorbic acid granules.
Claim 9
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for producing tablets containing sodium L-ascorbate by compressing the granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, having sodium L-ascorbate contained within the range of about 98.5 to 99.5 weight % on dry basis and having their portion of not less than about 80 weight % falling into particle size of 177 to 840 µ (the JIS standard).
Claim 10
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for producing tablets containing sodium L-ascorbate by compressing the granules consisting substantially of sodium L-ascorbate and a binder, having sodium L-ascorbate contained within the range of about 98.5 to 99.5 weight % on dry basis and having their portion of not less than about 80 weight % falling into particle size of 177 to 840 µ (the JIS standard).
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 19 words
