Claim 1
Independent Claim
182 words
A load-carrying trolley comprising a load-supporting deck (25,45) and opposed load-retaining side walls (17,18) (38,39) the deck being displaceable from a horizontal working position into an out-of-use position and one or each of said side walls (17,18)(38,39) being pivotable relative to the other whereby the trolley, while stably supported by its wheels (13-16), can be converted from a use condition in which said walls (17,18) (38,39) are substantially parallel with each other into a nestable condition in which said side walls are mutually convergent and the trolley can be nested with other like, similarly converted trolleys, characterised in that said side walls (17,18) (38,39) are detachably connected to a base unit (1) comprising a base frame which is mounted on the trolley wheels (13-16), said base frame (2-3-4) (40-41-42) comprising opposed wall-supporting side beams (2,3)(41,42) connected in spaced relationship by a bridge portion (4,40) at least one of said side beams (2,3) (41,42), together with the corresponding one of said side walls (17,18) (38,39),being pivotable relative to said bridge portion (4,40) to permit said conversion of the trolley into said nestable condition.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
39 words
A trolley according to claim 1, wherein at least one of said side beams (2,3) (41,42) is pivotable inwardly i.e. into a position such that the side beams converge in a direction away from their pivot points (10.11) (43,44).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
62 words
A trolley according to claim 2, wherein the.bridge portion (4) of said base frame is generally of V-form or of U-form with convergent sides (5,6), and the side beams (2,3) are pivotally connected to said bridge portion (4) at or near its wider end so that the side beams can be pivoted inwardly towards said convergent sides (5,6) of the bridge portion.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
37 words
A trolley according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the side beams (41,42) is pivotable outwardly. i.e. into a position such that the side beams diverge in a direction away from the bridge portion (40).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
40 words
A trolley according to any preceding claim, wherein each of the said opposed side walls (17-18,38-39) has depending spigot portions (19,20) which are insertable into receptive sockets (10,21) (11,22) spaced apart along one side (2,3) (41,42) of the base frame.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
41 words
A trolley according to claim 5, wherein each of said sockets (10,21,11,22) extends into or through one of the side beams (2,3,41,42) or into or through a said side beam and the bridge portion (4,40) of the base frame (2-3-4) (40-41-42).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
47 words
A trolley according to any preceding claim, wherein the side beams (2,3) (41,42) of the base frame are pivotally connected to the bridge portion (4,40) by tubular pivot pins (10,11) which also form sockets for the reception of spigots (19,20) depending from the opposed side walls (19,20)(38,39).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
26 words
A trolley according to claim 7, wherein said pivot pins (10,11) are easily removable for separating the side beams (2,3) (41,42) from the bridge portion (4,40)
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
29 words
A trolley according to any preceding claim, wherein the tops of the side beams (2,3) (41,42) and bridge portion (4,40) lie in or substantially in a common horizontal plane.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
