Process for preparing electrically conductive soluble heteropolyphenylenes, and their use
Abstract
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of electrically conductive heteropolyphenylenes, where heteropolyphenylenes of the general formula: <IMAGE> in which X can be 0, S, Se, SO or SO2 and Y can be X or NH, CH2, CO or C6H4 and n = 2 to 250, with the exclusion of water moisture and oxygen, 0.5 to 5 percent by weight of an activating additive is added. The activating additives are preferably the compounds sF5, SbF5, UF6, HClO4, NO <+> SbF6 <->, NO2 <+> SbF6 <->, NO <+> PF6 <->, SbCl5, NO2 <+> PF6 < ->, NO <+> BF4 <->, NO <+> ClO4 <->, (CF3) 2SO4, 2,4,6-trinitrophenol, 2,4,6-trinitrophenylsulfonic acid or 2,4,6-trinitrophenylcarboxylic acid or Sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, calcium or barium or their amides, the latter optionally in tetrahydrofuran, dimethoxyglycol, anthracene, naphthalene or 2-methylstyrene. The conductive heteropolyphenylenes can be used in electrical engineering for the production of solar cells, for the conversion and fixation of radiation, for the production of electrical and magnetic switches or for the antistatic treatment of plastics.
