Abstract

Abstract A baby carriage has a pair of front legs (3) and a pair of rear legs (4). The rear legs (4) each have an angle bar (14) pivotally connected thereto and the angle bar (14) has a pusher rod body (6) pivotally connected to the other end thereof. With the baby carriage in an operational state, the angle bar (14) is substantially in line with the associated pusher rod body (6). With the baby carriage in a collapsed state, the pusher rod body (6) and the associated angle bar (14) are in bent relation to each other, thus reducing the vertical dimension of the baby carriage. Further, in response to the turning movement of the angle bars (14) relative to the rear legs (4), both the longitudinal and the transverse spacings between the front and rear legs (3,4) are reduced. In this manner, the baby carriage is collapsed.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 118 words
A baby carriage as claimed in any preceding claim, further including a basket (206) which comprises a pair of L-shaped lateral rods (202) pivotally supported at pivot points (201) spaced a predetermined distance from the lower ends of said rear legs (4) and extending rearwardly and then upwardly, a pair of upper side rods (204) pivotally supported at their ends by the upper ends of said L-shaped lateral rods (202) and the central portions of said pusher rod bodies (6), and a pliable material which is retained by said L-shaped lateral rods (202) and said upper side rods (204) and whose opposite lateral surfaces are defined by said L-shaped lateral rods (202) and said upper side rods (204).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 163 words
A collapsible baby carriage having a pair of front legs (3) and a pair of rear legs (4), each leg having a ground-engaging wheel (71,72), and each pair of legs having connecting means (8,10) for determining the distance between the legs of the pair, the carriage being characterised by a pair of pusher members (6) which can be downwardly displaced to collapse the carriage, each pusher member (6) being pivotally connected to a respective intermediate member (14) which is itself pivotally connected to a respective rear leg (4), the carriage being further characterised by means coupled to said connecting means (8, 1 0) and arranged so that, upon downward displacement of the pusher members (6) and consequent pivoting of the intermediate members (14) relative to the rear legs (4), said front legs (3), said rear legs (4), and said pusher members (6) respectively move toward each other and the two pairs of legs and the pair of pusher members move toward each other.
