Abstract

Electronic keyboard with capacitive key matrix (4) controlled by a microprocessor (1) which fixes a precise detection level for each key position in order to detect any key depressing. When a new detection amplifier (7) is selected by the lines (6) during the scanning of the key matrix (4), a set of calibration pulses is applied to a reference capacitor (10) at the same time that the sensitivity of the amplifier (7) is subjected to variation up to a zero output level to eliminate variations due to the power supply and to the characteristics of the components. In addition, when a key position is addressed by the scanning mechanism, the threshold of the detection amplifier (7) is modified to take account of the parasitic capacity linked to the key in question. Thus the variations of the keyboard parameters are effectively compensated at the same time as the detection threshold is reached for a nominal value of the pressing of the keys.
