Funktional unit principally for sausage making, and method of manufactoring it
Abstract
The functional unit suitable for sausage production consists of a hollow rod (1) made of longitudinally gathered packaging tube, a support container (7) surrounding the outer peripheral surface (2) of the hollow rod, leaving its hollow mouths (5) free, which consists of a tubular thermoplastic plastic shell and the respective end of which forms a sleeve projection (10) which projects beyond the length of the hollow rod, and annular discs (15) at the respective end of the support container. The annular disks adjacent to the end faces (3) of the hollow rod and pushed onto the outer surface of the respective sleeve protrusion are each surrounded by an inverted portion (9) of the sleeve protrusion. The inversion extends from the area of the outer peripheral edge of the end face of the hollow rod over the inner end face (18) of the annular disc, through its circular ring over its outer end face (17) and its peripheral surface (20) towards the center of the hollow rod. The casing overhang is permanently dimensionally stable in the area of the everting by thermoforming. The protrusion of the casing is preferably connected to the circular disk and optionally also to the region of the support container which envelops the hollow rod by welding or sealing.
