Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to the starting of pumps. During a starting test, after the pump has become cold the overpressure of the liquid in relation to its vapour tension (NPSH) is measured at 20, and the delivery overpressure between the pump outlet and inlet is measured at 30, and this starting is carried out and continued only if the NPSH and the delivery overpressure are successively higher than reference values. The invention is used in pumps for cryogenic liquids. <IMAGE>
