Abstract

Abstract An electromagnetic transducer (10) comprises two magnetoresistive elements (R H1 , R H2 ) in a bridge circuit with two inductive components (L 1 , L 2 ) The bridge carries a unidirectional bias current between input voltage terminals (VB, Vs)and magnetically induced variations in the current are manifested at Vo through a differential preamplifier. The inductive components are provided by cross-coupled gyrators (30, 34) each gyrator comprising a bipolar operational amplifier (31,33), a feedback resistor (32,36) and the two gyrators have a common coupling capacitor (38). At a steady D.C. level each gyrator provides a low impedance, almost short circuit path, to earth while for A.C. signals the gyrator provides a very high impedance amounting to an open circuit.
