Tamper proof electrical equipment case - has interlocking members between lid and base and unauthorised-entry warning device
Abstract
Abstract The box-shaped housing for electric equipment has a base (1) over which fits a lid (2), the two parts being locked together so that they are not easily separated. The design is intended to prevent operation by unauthorised persons. Along each end of the lid is a row of e.g. three hooked noses (16,17,18) projecting inwardly to hook over the inner edge of the base. Between them are hooked lugs (12) on the base which fit into recesses (14,15) in the lid. This prevents the lid from being removed without distorting it by inserting a tool or screwdriver blade. The edges of the lid interlock with the edges of the base, and the sides (11) of the lid carry lugs (25) which fit into holes (24) in tongues (22) projecting from the sides (6,7) of the base for additional locking. At one end (5) of the base is a screw (20) which engages a plate (19) projecting downwards from the lid, if turned by an unauthorised person, operates a warning device to indicate that entry has been attempted.
