Abstract

Abstract The system operates on the basis of electric conductivity of the skin. It uses a scanning head with two spaced contact electrodes, whose reading is displayed under control of an electric measuring circuit. The electrodes are applied to the skin surface under a constant pressure not exceeding 20lb/sq. cm in relation to the electrode surface, pref. less than 15lb/Sq. cm. The measured value is picked up within 1 sec. The applied appts. has a measuring circuit between the contact electrodes, the latter being resiliently mounted in the scanning head. They are held by a system, affording the application of the specified pressure. The scanning head may have a surface for skin contacting, the electrodes being movably mounted at right angles to this surface. An elastically deformable element may be used for imparting thee required pressure to the electrodes.
