Polyurethane elastomer free running dyestuff or auxiliary concentrate - is resistant to microbes and stable, and mixes well with elastomer
Abstract
Abstract Free running dyestuff and/or auxiliary concentrate, which is resistant to microbes, contains 95-30 (wt)% polyurethane elastomer (I) with a softening point of 100-170 degrees C and 5-70% dyestuff (IIA) and/or auxiliary (IIB). (I) is obtd. by reacting (a) an organic diisocyanate (MDI) with (b) a OH-gp.-contg. polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF) and opt. a polyesterol based on adipic acid-butan-1,4-diol (-hexan-1,6-diol) or polycaprolactone and (c) an aliphatic diol (ethylene glycol butan-1,4-diol or hexan-1,6-diol) as chain extender. Concentrate is useful for incorporating (II) in polyurethane elastomers. It can be dosed easily and accurately and is absolutely stable in storage. It can melt easily below the usual processing temps. for natural polyurethane granules and mixes well and homogeneously with these in the melt. Since it contains no solvent and plasticiser, it is not detrimental to the mechanical properties of the granulate.
