Abstract

Abstract The sensor switch is esp. for lifts to select the floor or to call the lift. The switch has a recess (3) open towards the user. A light emitting component (5) and a light receiving component (6) are placed diametrically opposite to each other on the sides of the recess, so that light from the light emitter reaches the light receiver. The light barrier so produced is perpendicular to the direction of the recess depth. The switch may use infrared radiation. The recess may have a transparent wall around its periphery which covers the light components.
