Abstract
Abstract The invalid vehicle is driven by reciprocating drive levers which are coupled to drive gears (8, 9) on each side of a driven wheel. The gears sequentially drive the wheel via freewheel clutches. The gears are fitted to the axle by means of right and left hand threads to prevent them loosening. The system allows fitting of a hub gear box accessible from each side of the hub.
