Abstract

Abstract The compression spring with progressive characteristic is formed so that the wound sectors touch during stroke absorbotion. An elastic covering of plastics is provided around the touching surface regions. This plastics coating (11) is formed from plastics material in a cured self-adhering and viscous condition. the plastics can be preformed by jet and applied to the spring wire in a form having a sickle shape cross-section. Another possibility is created by a curve-shaped application which crosses the touching lines. The overlay can be in the form of spaced blocks in the longitudinal direction. The cross-section can remain either constant or variable in all applications.
