Central electronic accounting computer - controls electronic cash registers in cash register systems
Abstract
Abstract The central computer consists of a main computer, with a revolving magnetic disc store and two auxiliary computers connected with each other by interface groups. The auxiliary computers are connected to cash registers by a time multiplex transmission system and one of the auxiliary computers is the active computer connected with the cash registers, and the other is a reserve computer. A control signal generated by one of the cash registers by a special key operation connects most of cash registers to the reserve computer for storage of their signals in its store, while the cash register generating the control signal is connected to the active main computer for data collection from the magnetic disc store; the main and the auxiliary computera are of the same design and are interchangeable.
