Exhaust pump system for spark needle facsimile recorders - has needle region connected via pipe to suction chamber pumped by exhaust fan
Abstract
Abstract The exhaust pump system is used with facsimile recorders which reproduce their images by means of a needle arcing onto a rotating drum carrying the recording medium. The region below the sparking needle is connected via a flexible pipe to a suction chamber. Air and arc products are removed from the region of the needle and pass through a simple flap valve into the bottom of the suction chamber. The top of the chamber is connected by a short pipe to the motor driven exhaust fan which exhaust the air out into the atmosphere through a filter. The chamber is formed by a base-plate and a removable, dome-shaped cork, held to the base-plate by clamps.
