Abstract The head (14) is roughly triangular in shape with an L shaped extension (12) at its apex to which the shaft (10) is attached. The lower part of the head (18) is reinforced to approximately twice the thickness of the upper part and the base of the triangle is a convex curve. The striking surface which is on the other side of the base from the reinforcement, is set at an angle to the axis of the shaft (10). Other designs having the striking surface in line with the shaft. Or the striking surface may have a honeycomb pattern impressed in. It is clamed tha the larger head makes it easier to strike the ball squarely.
