Sewage clarifier tank - rectangular in plan view and prismatic in section
Abstract
Abstract The side walls slope at an angle of >=50 degrees to the horizontal and the tank is divided into three elongated chambers by inner walls parallel to the sides with plate, cell or tube suspension cleaners filling the upper parts of the gaps between the parallel walls. The raw sewage is fed into the top of the central chamber where the floating and sinking impurities are separated, the lower part of this central chamber being the sludge collector into which a vertical immersed pump protrudes from a travelling gantry at the top of the tank. Clear liquid runs into overflow channels alongside the outer chambers. Simple to maintain, compact and high throughput.
