Printed circuit board soldering system - with magnetic solder circulation
Abstract
Abstract The soldering system consisting of a tin bath is fitted with electrical and magnetic means for generating a pumping action by means of a magnetic field passing through the bath and a current conductor penetrating this field, part of the bath serving as current conductor. In the prefd. design the metal is circulated from a channel underneath the bath to which it is connected by circulating channels to above the bath level where it is pushed through nozzles to describe a trajectory during which it wets the circuit boards being passed over the bath excess metal dropping back into the melt bath. The combination of a magnetic and electrical field permits close adjustment of trajectory of metal and also of its temp.
