Abstract

Abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tubular heat-exchanger unit is provided herein. The heat-exchanger unit includes a plurality of heat exchanger tubes placed in u stacked, spaced-apart relationship and disposed substantially parallel to each other in both the vertical and the orizontal directions, each of the opposing end portions of the plurality of tubes being adheringly embedded in a wall of a hardened, elastic material, disposed transverse to the longi-tudinal direction of the tubes, the wall at both end portions of the tubes sealably separating an inner zone defined by the space around the tubes from the end zones, which end zones communicate with the space within the tubes. Metal profile bars are sealably adhered to the wall of the elastic material at the uppermost and the lowermost sides of the stack and at both opposing end portions of the tubes, the plurality of stacked tubes being disposed on n base plate. The base place contains a plurality of spacer elements which extend substantially vertically from the base plate for providing horizontal separation between adjacent rows of heat-exchanger tubes and also contains additional spacer elements disposed transverse to the longitudinal direction of the heat-exchanger tubes for providing vertical separation between adjacent rows of heat-exchanger tubes. The tubular heat-exchanger is adapted to handle a first medium through the tubes themselves via the end zones, and a second medium which flows around the tubes, trans-verse to the tubes through the inner zone. This provides a heat-exchanger unit in which the heat-exchanger tubes, being elastically sealed together, provide a tight elastic seal for the tubes. A novel method for manufacturing the heat-exchanger unit is also provided.
