Tuyere for blast furnace

Abstract

Abstract A tuyere partic for blast furnaces comprises a double walled hermetic envelope partic Cu, between the walls of which a cooling fluid circulates. The inner surface of the envelope is at least partially coated with a material whose structure allows circulation of cooling fluid by capillary action e.g. metallic fibres. The fluid is a volatile liquid. Specif the volatile liquid has a high latent heat of vapourisation high surface tension and low density.
