Abstract 'Boat toothed' gear wheel comprises a cast metal core and a tooth ring moulded in a plastic such as "Nylon" or a metal alloy such as "Zamak". The core pref. has a drive keyway. Esp. suitable for obtaining tooth shaped to facilitate engagement of misaligned (flexible) drive shafts. esp. for conical gears.
