Method and device for separating at least one material from a liquid or gas
Abstract
Abstract In a method for separating at least one material from a liquid or gas, having a specific weight which is different from that of the liquid or gas, by means of centrifugal forces, the quantity of the material and the liquid or gas is set in rotation about an axis which is lined in parallel with its direction of flow, the radius of the rotary movement being reduced and the rotary movement being speeded up. The cleaned liquid or gas is drawn off from the separating chamber through outlet openings lying one opposite the other. A device 37 for carrying out the method has a helical space 60 in which the quantity is set in rotation. A guide device 39, which tapers in the direction of flow of the mixture to the same extent as the wall 40 of the surrounding housing so that an annular, tapering space 47, which opens into the separating chamber 44, is produced. Two immersion pipes 41, 42, through which the cleaned liquid or gas flows off, end in the separating chamber 44. A calming chamber 45, in the lower region of which an opening 46 for drawing off the separated-off material is provided, is provided in the lower part 62 of the housing.
