Abstract
Abstract A system for spectroscopy in the diagnosis of tissue comprises surface contact and needle probe devices (268) having one or more optical fibers (266, 272) used to direct laser radiation (262) onto the tissue to be diagnosed and to collect the radiation subsequently emitted by the tissue bevore delivering that radiation to a system (278, 280) for spectral analysis.
