Abstract

Abstract Disclosed is a transducer incorporating a piezoelectric device for converting physical forces into an electrical signal. A high input impedance, low output impedance voltage operated amplifying device, preferably in the form of a P-channel enhancement MOS transistor, is combined with the piezoelectric element and supplied over a conventional single coax or two-wire cable from a remote power supply. The MOS transistor may be connected to the coaxial cable through a junction transistor.
