Abstract NOVEL WINDING PATTERNS FOR ARMATURES HAVING VARIOUS NUMBERS OF SLOTS AND EITHER ONE OR TWO COILS PER SLOT ARE DISCLOSED ALONG WITH METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR WINDING ARMATURES. LEAD WIRES BETWEEN COILS ARE WRAPPED AROUND THE ARMATURE SHAFT AND LOOPED AROUND COMMUTATOR TANGS. AN EFFICIENT METHOD OF OBTAINING ARMATURES HAVING OPPOSITE POLARITIES IS ALSO SHOWN AND DESCRIBED.
