Abstract A TRANSVERSELY RECIPROACATING CUTTER MOUNTED ON THE MOBILE FRAME OF A CLOTH SPREADING MACHINE AND COOPERATING WITH A SPREADER BLADE IN ORDER TO CUT THE CLOTH AFTER A LAYER OF CLOTH HAS BEEN SPREAD. THE SPREADER BLADE IS ALSO ADAPTED TO COOPERATE WITH A CATCHER MECHANISM FOR REMOVING THE CUT END OF THE CLOTH FROM THE SPREADER BLADE.
