Abstract

Abstract An optical connector 21 includes optical connector plugs 2 and 2 , a ferrule holder 22 , and a connector housing 23 , and the ferrule holder 22 , in which the optical connector plugs 2 and 2 are removably received, is removably fitted in the connector housing 23 . plug-introducing slits 33 and 33 are formed respectively through opposite side walls 32 and 32 of the ferrule holder 22 and also through part of a rear wall 26 thereof so that the optical connector plugs 2 and 2 can be removably mounted on the ferrule holder. The connector housing 23 has an elastic retaining piece portion 46 engageable with the ferrule holder 22 to prevent the withdrawal of the ferrule holder 22 from the connector housing, and the engagement of this elastic retaining piece portion can be canceled.
