Abstract
Abstract A call processing system for a wireless communications network comprises a mechanism for detecting a call placed from a mobile station in the network to a multi-digit number dialed by a user of the mobile station; a mechanism for determining whether the call is indicated to be fraudulent; a mechanism for determining whether the dialed number is a predefined multi-digit emergency number; a mechanism for completing the call if the call is indicated not to be fraudulent, or if the dialed number is determined to be an emergency number even if the call is indicated to be fraudulent; and a mechanism for blocking the call if the call is indicated to be fraudulent and the dialed number is determined not to be an emergency number.
