Abstract

Abstract A motor vehicle passenger seat includes a seat, a seat-back in contacting relationship with the seat, and a pair of laterally spaced anchorage members for anchoring a child seat disposed at the point of contact between the seat and seat-back, the anchorage members are pivotally mounted in relation to the seat whereby the anchorage members can be pivoted between a use position in which they are upwardly disposed through a gap between the seat and the seat-back so that a child seat can be secured thereto, and a stowage position in which the anchorage members are downwardly disposed through the gap and hidden from view thereby, the anchorage members being constrained to pivot in opposite directions to one another when moving between the use and stowage positions.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 130 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat comprising: a seat; a seat-back in contacting relationship with the seat; a pair of laterally spaced anchorage members for anchoring a child seat disposed at the point of contact between the seat and seat-back; and the anchorage members being pivotally mounted in relation to the seat whereby the anchorage members can be pivoted between a use position in which they are upwardly disposed through a gap between the seat and the seat-back so that a child seat can be secured thereto, and a stowage position in which the anchorage members are downwardly disposed through the gap and hidden from view behind the seat thereby, the anchorage members being constrained to pivot in opposite directions to one another when pivoted between the use and stowage positions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 130 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 33 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one of the anchorage members is provided with a detent so that it resists being pivoted from the use position.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 1, wherein the anchorage members are connected together as a child seat anchoring device by spacing means.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 3, wherein the spacing means is substantially rigid.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 39 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 1, wherein each anchorage member is provided with a guard plate which is disposed between the seat-back and the anchorage member when the anchorage member is in the use position.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 34 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 4, wherein each guard plate is provided with a finger hole to facilitate lifting of the anchorage member from the stowage to the use position.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 162 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat comprising: a seat; a seat-back in contacting relationship with the seat; a pair of laterally spaced anchorage members for anchoring a child seat disposed at the point of contact between the seat and seat-back; the anchorage members being pivotally mounted in relation to the seat whereby the anchorage members can be pivoted between a use position in which they are upwardly disposed through a gap between the seat and the seat-back so that a child seat can be secured thereto, and a stowage position in which the anchorage members are downwardly disposed through the gap and hidden from view behind the seat thereby, the anchorage members being constrained to pivot in opposite directions to one another when pivoted between the use and stowage positions; and a pair of guard plates each corresponding to an individual anchorage member, each guard plate disposed between the seat-back and the anchorage member when the anchorage member is in the use position.
Claim 9
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 33 words
A motor vehicle passenger seat as claimed in claim 7, wherein at least one of the anchorage members is provided with a detent so that it resists being pivoted from the use position.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 24 words
A motor vehicle as claimed in claim 7, wherein the anchorage members are connected together as a child seat anchoring device by spacing means.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 14 words
A device as claimed in claim 9, wherein the spacing means is substantially rigid.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 32 words
A motor vehicle as claimed in claim 7, wherein each guard plate is provided with a finger hole to facilitate lifting of the anchorage member from the stowage to the use position.
