Abstract
Abstract An information processing apparatus includes a holding mechanism for detachably holding a card-shaped adapter and a receiving portion for receiving information stored in a smaller storage medium through the adapter, wherein the holding mechanism is arranged so as to expose an ejecting member when the adapter is received by the holding mechanism. The adapter includes a connecting portion in which the smaller storage medium is detachably located and has a shape similar to a larger storage medium which the holding mechanism is also able to detachably hold. The adapter further includes the ejecting member to be manually operated for releasing the smaller storage medium from the adapter.
