Abstract
Abstract An image processing apparatus and method includes a scanner for scanning an original and generating electrical image data representing an image of the original to be processed, a processor for processing the electrical image data supplied by the scanner, and a device for determining whether the original represented by the electrical image data contains a specified image based on the electrical image data supplied by the scanner. The scanner scans the original a plurality of times and the device performs its determination operation on the same original a plurality of times, once for each scanning operation.

An image processing apparatus comprising: scanning means for scanning an original and generating electrical image data representing an image of the original to be processed; processing means for processing the electrical image data supplied by said scanning means; and determining means for determining whether or not the original represented by the electrical image data contains a specified image, based on the electrical image data supplied by said scanning means, wherein said scanning means scans the same original a plurality of times and said determining means performs its determination operation on the same original a plurality of times in response to scanning the original by said scanning means.
