Abstract
Abstract A vehicle control device such as a steering wheel is equipped with a number of sensors for sensing physiological variations in the human vehicle operator. These sensors are coupled to a master unit (not shown). A rise in the anxiety level of the human operator, which may be due to an impending maneuver, is detected by the master unit via, for example, a rise in skin conductivity, and a signal is provided to other in-vehicle equipment. This signal may be used to delay the provision of non-critical information to the operator, such as navigational data, fuel consumption details or the ringing of a car-telephone.
