Claim 1
Independent Claim
97 words
A method for monitoring the effects of environment on a material located within that environment, comprising the steps of: forming a sensor array having a plurality of individual electrochemical sensors therein such that certain of the individual sensors are sensitive to elements of the environment and certain of the individual sensors are constructed of a material whose corrosion properties are to be evaluated; positioning the sensor array so as to be in contact with the material to be evaluated; and providing read-out means for at least receiving signals from each of the plurality of individual electrochemical sensors.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
24 words
The method of claim 1, additionally including the step of emplacing the sensor array in an environment to be evaluated for its corrosive properties.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
35 words
The method of claim 1, wherein the step of providing read-out means is carried out by operatively connecting each of the individual electrochemical sensors to an electronic/computational system, such that each individual sensor is monitored.
Claim 5
