Abstract
Abstract The present invention concerns a Neisseria gonorrhoeae-specific nucleic acid probe which has at least one of the nucleic acid sequences shown in SEQ ID NO 1-15 as well as a method for the detection of the pathogenic Neisseria species N.gonorrhoeae using such a nucleic acid probe. The sequences shown in Sequence ID Nos. 1-15 correspond to or are complementary to partial regions of the 23S rRNA gene or to the spacer region located on the 3' side thereof.
