Abstract An adhesive composition comprising an alpha-cyanoacrylate and a hydrophobic silica surface-treated with dimethyldichlorosilane, the composition being characterized in that the composition has incorporated therein at least one of a polyether-modified silicone or alcohol-modified silicone in an amount of 0.05 to 5.0% based on the weight of the composition.
