Abstract

Abstract A method and a device for using excess heat of flue gas that is not required for operating a flue gas desulfurization device of a power plant is presented. Before being introduced into the flue gas desulfurization device. The flue gas is guided through preheaters for heating the combustion air and an electrostatic filter. The combustion air preheating step is achieved with two air preheaters, one arranged upstream of the electrostatic filter and one arranged downstream of the electrostatic filter. A partial flue gas stream is branched off at least before the first air preheater arranged upstream of the electrostatic filter. The partial flue gas stream is used to generate steam.
