Abstract

Abstract A camera system that includes a taking lens having a motor drive mechanism and a control mechanism for controlling the motor drive mechanism, and a camera body to which the taking lens is detachably mounted. The camera system has a power supply that is provided in the camera body. Power supplying circuits provided in the camera body and the taking lens independently supply the motor drive mechanism and the control mechanism with electrical power. An abnormal power supply detecting device in the taking lens detects an abnormality in the supply of power to the motor drive mechanism, and a power cutting device in the camera body cuts the power supply to the motor drive mechanism when the abnormal power supply detecting device detects an abnormality in the power supply.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim 128 words
A camera system including a taking lens having a motor drive means and a control means for controlling the motor drive means, and a camera body to which the taking lens is detachably mounted, comprising: a power supply provided in the camera body; power supplying circuits provided in the camera body and the taking lens to independently supply the motor drive means and the control means with the electrical power of said power supply; abnormal power supply detecting means in the taking lens for detecting an abnormality of the power supply to the motor drive means; and power cutting means in the camera body for cutting the power supply to the motor drive means when said abnormal power supply detecting means detects an abnormality of said power supply.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 128 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 14 words
A camera system according to claim 1, wherein said power supply comprises a battery.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 40 words
A camera system according to claim 1, wherein the camera body comprises independent electrical contact terminals through which the drive power and a constant voltage of drive power are supplied to the motor drive means and the control means, respectively.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 38 words
A camera system according to claim 3, wherein the taking lens comprises a power zoom lens having a zooming lens unit and a zoom mechanism which supports said zooming lens unit to move in an optical axis direction.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
A camera system according to claim 4, wherein the motor drive means comprises a zoom motor which drives said zoom mechanism to said zooming lens unit.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 28 words
A camera system according to claim 5, wherein said control means of the taking lens and said abnormal power supply detecting means are included in a lens CPU.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 32 words
A camera system according to claim 6, wherein said lens CPU detects an abnormality of the power supply based on a voltage of said electrical contact terminals for the motor drive means.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 18 words
A camera system according to claim 7, wherein said lens CPU comprises clock means for generating clock signals.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 41 words
A camera system according to claim 8, wherein said power zoom lens and said camera body comprise input and output means through which data is inputted and outputted synchronously with the clock signals of said clock means of said zoom lens.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 38 words
A camera system according to claim 9, wherein said camera body comprises a battery which supplies drive power and constant voltage drive power for said motor drive means and the control means to the power zoom lens, respectively.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 43 words
A camera system according to claim 10, wherein said camera body comprises independent electrical contact terminals through which drive power and the constant voltage drive power for the motor drive means and the control means are supplied to said power zoom lens, respectively.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 36 words
A camera system according to claim 11, wherein said camera body comprises a body controller for checking whether or not power for the motor drive means is supplied to the control means of the taking lens.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 41 words
A camera system according to claim 12, wherein said body controller cuts the power supply for the motor drive means when it detects that power is not being supplied to the control means of the taking lens in an appropriate manner.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 34 words
A camera system according to claim 13, wherein said body controller permits supply of said drive power to the motor drive means when it receives a power supply demand signal from said lens CPU.
