Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A process for preparing an asphalt mix, comprising the steps of: drying, heating and mixing inert materials; continuously introducing a fibrous material at a controlled rate into a current of liquid asphalt to form a charged liquid binder; combining the charged liquid binder with the inert materials; and mixing the charged liquid binder and inert materials, wherein said introducing and combining steps together comprise at least one step of spraying a material including fibrous material on the inert materials.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 79 words
A process for preparing an asphalt mix, comprising the steps of: drying, heating and mixing inert materials; continuously introducing a fibrous material at a controlled rate into a current of liquid asphalt to form a charged liquid binder; combining the charged liquid binder with the inert materials; and mixing the charged liquid binder and inert materials, wherein said introducing and combining steps together comprise at least one step of spraying a material including fibrous material on the inert materials.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 68 words
The process of claim 1 including the step of forming the fibrous material from mineral fibers having a Micronaire not greater than 7 under 5 grams and a non-ionic oiled finish, by passing the mineral fibers through a plate with holes having an average dimension of 6 to 10 mm, thereby forming nodules in which at least 75% of the fibers have a length less than 0.5 mm.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 2, wherein the non-ionic oiled finish comprises an amine oxide base of fatty acid.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 3, wherein said amine based fatty acid comprises dimethyl-alkyl-amine oxide.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said introducing step comprises spraying the fibrous material so as to intersect the current of liquid asphalt.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 19 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said combining step comprises spraying the charged liquid binder onto the inert materials.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 42 words
The process for preparing an asphalt mix, comprising the steps of: drying, heating and mixing inert materials; mixing asphalt with the inert materials to form a liquid mix; and continuously spraying a fibrous material at a controlled rate into the liquid mix.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 42 words
The process for preparing an asphalt mix, comprising the steps of: drying, heating and mixing inert materials; mixing asphalt with the inert materials to form a liquid mix; and continuously spraying a fibrous material at a controlled rate into the liquid mix.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 68 words
The process of claim 7 including the step of forming the fibrous material from mineral fibers having a Micronaire not greater than 7 under 5 grams and a non-ionic oiled finish, by passing the mineral fibers through a plate with holes having an average dimension of 6 to 10 mm, thereby forming nodules in which at least 75% of the fibers have a length less than 0.5 mm.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 8, wherein the non-ionic oiled finish comprises an amine oxide base of fatty acid.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 9, wherein said amine based fatty acid comprises dimethyl-alkyl-amine oxide.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 16 words
The process of claim 7, wherein said mixing step comprises spraying asphalt onto said inert materials.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 11 wherein said continuously spraying step comprises spraying the fibrous material radially onto the liquid mix.
