Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 85 words
An improved roller cone core bit comprising: a cylindrical bit body having a means for connecting the core bit to a drillstring on one end and a plurality of journal segment arms on the other end; a plurality of core cutters, the cone cutters being rotatably mounted on journals which extend downward from the journal segment arms; and a plurality of stabilizer blades fixedly attached to the circumference of the bit body, each stabilizer blade oriented spirally about the longitudinal axis of the bit body.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 85 words
An improved roller cone core bit comprising: a cylindrical bit body having a means for connecting the core bit to a drillstring on one end and a plurality of journal segment arms on the other end; a plurality of core cutters, the cone cutters being rotatably mounted on journals which extend downward from the journal segment arms; and a plurality of stabilizer blades fixedly attached to the circumference of the bit body, each stabilizer blade oriented spirally about the longitudinal axis of the bit body.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
The improved roller cone core bit of claim 1 wherein the stabilizer blades contain tungsten carbide inserts.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
The improved roller cone core bit of claim 1 wherein the stabilizer blades have hardfacing on their leading edge.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 22 words
The improved roller cone core bit of claim 1 wherein the stabilizer blades extend to substantially the diameter of the core bit.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 25 words
The improved roller cone core bit of claim 1 wherein the stabilizer blades provide substantially 360 degrees of wall contact with a full gage borehole.
