Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim
58 words
A process for electrically charging a dielectric surface, said process comprising the steps of directing a jet of uncharged fluid of liquid or gas at a velocity of at least 100 meters per second to strike the dielectric surface and to flow over the surface thereby tribocharging said surface, and then separating the fluid from the dielectric surface.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
18 words
A process as claimed in claim 1 wherein the fluid is an organic fluid or a silicone oil.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
13 words
A process as claimed in claim 2 wherein the fluid is a liquid.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
15 words
A process as claimed in claim 2 wherein the dielectric surface is a polymeric material.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
12 words
A process as claimed in claim 2 wherein the fluid is dichlorodifluoromethane.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
19 words
A process as claimed in claim 2 wherein the velocity of the jet is above the speed of sound.
