Abstract

Abstract A disinfectant composition comprising an aqueous solution or an alcoholic aqueous solution in a concentration of 83 v/v % or less which contains hydroxypropyl cellulose in a concentration of from 0.5 to 10 w/v %, iodine in a concentration of from 0.01 to 1.0 w/v %, and an iodide in a concentration of not more than 0.5 w/v %. The composition has reduced skin irritation while exhibiting sufficient bactericidal and viricidal activity.
