Abstract
Abstract A friction member which is suitable for use in supersonic motors is disclosed. The friction member is constituted of a composite material comprised of a carbon material and a mechanical strength reinforcing material. The composite material is a shaped porous sintered product containing the carbon material, which is impregnated with metals, synthetic resins or non-metallic inorganic compounds and hot pressed.
