Abstract

Abstract A transition metal salt and powder of the solid reaction product of the ligand with an alkyllithium are reacted at room temperature in a non-polar hydrocarbon. The metallocene thus obtained has a sufficient purity for subsequent use as catalyst for the polymerization of olefins without further purification.
