Abstract

Abstract In a reflecting plate provided on an optical head arranged to be movable at least in a predetermined direction within a device such as a compact-disk player and the like, a multiplicity of irregularities are formed on a surface of the reflecting plate for causing diffused reflection of light. Then, since the light is diffusely reflected at the edge portions of the reflecting plate in the predetermined direction, an area, in which a linear relation exists between movement of the optical head and the output level of an amplifier signal in accordance with the movement can be wider as compared with the case in which these irregularities are not formed.
