Abstract
Abstract A cooling device for an internal combustion engine has an additonal water pump and a bypass conduit which bypasses the additional water pump. When the amount of heat radiation of the radiator is insufficient, the additional water pump is driven by an electric motor. When the additional water pump is not necessary, the bypass conduit is opened, so that the cooling fluid bypasses the additional pump.
