Abstract
Abstract A printer font memory including a SRAM (Static Random Access Memory) and a DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory). Font data received from an external apparatus is stored in the DRAM. A set of font data to be used for printing is transferred from the DRAM to the SRAM. Character code data received from the external apparatus is converted into bit images corresponding to the received character code data using the font data stored in the SRAM in order to print the bit images.
