Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to a mixture composed essentially of polyoxymethylene (component A), a rubber-elastic graft copolymer in which the particles have been formed from a rubber-elastic, single-phase core based on polydiene and a hard graft shell (component B) and, if appropriate, a polymeric third component (component C). The invention also relates to a three-component mixture of the components A, B' and C, the core, in the case of B', being preponderantly or entirely composed of poly(meth)acrylic acid ester or silicone rubber instead of polydiene. The shaped articles produced from these mixtures are particularly distinguished by good low-temperature impact strength.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 98 words
A mixture comprised of polyoxymethylene (component A) and 5-50% by weight, relative to the total mixture, of a rubber-elastic graft copolymer (component B), wherein the graft copolymer is present in the polyoxymethylene in the form of a finely dispersed phase having an average particle size between 0.1 and 5 μm and consists essentially of particles which have been formed from a rubber-elastic, single-phase core consisting essentially of a polydiene base, which is cross-linked and has a gel content in excess of 70%, and a hard graft shell, said shell comprising a single layer or a plurality of layers.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 98 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1, wherein the core in the component B consists of polydiene.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 36 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1, wherein the shell of the particles in the component B consists essentially of a single layer, said single layer consisting essentially of polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, polymethacrylonitrile, or combinations thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1, wherein the component B has a glass transition temperature below -60° C.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 12 words
A shaped article produced from the mixture as claimed in claim 1.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1, wherein said shell consists essentially of a single layer.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 15 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1 consisting essentially of component A and component B.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 1, wherein said shell comprises a plurality of layers.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 35 words
A mixture as claimed in claim 8, wherein said shell consists essentially of two layers, an inner layer consisting essentially of crosslinked polystyrene and an outer layer consisting essentially of polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, or polymethacrylonitrile.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 95 words
A mixture comprising: component A, a polyoxymethylene, having incorporated therein 5-50% by weight, relative to the total mixture, of component B, a particulate mass finely distributed throughout component A, the particles of said particulate mass having an average particle size between 0.1 and 5 μm and consisting essentially of rubber-elastic, single phase cores having a polydiene base, which is cross-linked and has a gel content in excess of 70%, and a hard graft shell, said hard graft shell being essentially of the polydiene and up to 10% by weight of a co-polymerized styrene or acrylonitrile.
Claim 12
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 20 words
