Abstract

Abstract Ketene dimers of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R 1 and R 2 independently of one another denote an alkyl or alkenyl radical each of which has at least 8 C atoms, a cycloalkyl radical having at least 6 C atoms or an aryl or aralkyl radical are used for the treatment of wool and synthetic polyamide fibres.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 62 words
Process for the treatment of wool and synthetic polyamide fibres, characterized in that ketene dimers of the general formula ##STR7## wherein R 1 and R 2 independently of one another denote an alkyl or alkenyl radical each of which has at least 8 C atoms, a cycloalkyl radical having at least 6 C atoms or an aryl or aralkyl radical, are used.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 62 words
Process for the treatment of wool and synthetic polyamide fibres, characterized in that ketene dimers of the general formula ##STR7## wherein R 1 and R 2 independently of one another denote an alkyl or alkenyl radical each of which has at least 8 C atoms, a cycloalkyl radical having at least 6 C atoms or an aryl or aralkyl radical, are used.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that ketene dimers of the formula (I) wherein R 1 and R 2 represent alkyl or alkenyl radicals each of which has 10-22 C atoms, are used.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that the ketene dimers are used in the form of aqueous emulsions.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that aqueous emulsions containing 0.5-30% by weight of a ketene dimer (I) and 0.2-15% by weight of an emulsification auxiliary are used.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that the ketene dimers are employed in a proportion of 0.05-1% by weight, relative to the fibre.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 13 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that it is carried out continuously.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
Process according to claim 1, characterized in that the wool and synthetic polyamide fibres are present in the form of carpet materials.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
Wool and synthetic polyamide materials which have been treated by the process of claim 1.
